27th July 2003 Windsurfing: Golf Course Car Park, Borth Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 17 knots Surf / Sea State: 2 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 16C Sea Temperature: 17C Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: After this afternoons kite-surf session, the wind picked up a little later on, so I went back out. I was going to go kite-surfing again, but the tide was a little too high for launching and landing on my own and the wind had picked up enough to go windsurfing anyway. I went out on my Fanatic Cross 100 and 6.3m sail, but soon had to come in and put on some more outhaul as the wind continued to pick up. In the end I was perfectly powered up and made some really smooth gybes on the face of the rolling swells out the back, and some good jumps and little wave rides. I was sailing right out to the 'South Spit' Bouy on the bar and back in the evening sun, with no one else out. Plenty of wind, the sea as warm, the sun was shining and no one else was out.... Lovely!! ;) |
